Mastering SEO - How To Do On-Site Optimization The Easy Way

SEO has often been described as a complex topic. Nothing could be further from the truth. SEO IS simple. The reason so-called SEO experts try to sell you more of their 'unknown' SEO techniques (which likely don't work) is because they want to make more money. Real Search Engine Optimization comprises of a few basic principles that will give you a solid ranking on the search engines. Fads might work for a certain time period, but eventually become worthless.

One facet of SEO is on-site optimization. This is the process of optimizing your site itself for maximum search engine friendliness. Of course, off-site optimization refers to the building of incoming links to your website, but in this article we're going to look at the key factors which comprise on-site search engine optimization.

Firstly, identify the one phrase in which you want to rank among the top results on Google. Then make this phrase the focal point of your: Title tag, Description tag and content of your webpage. You'll want this phrase to have a 'keyword density' of between 2 to 5%. What is keyword density? For example, if I want to use the phrase 'golf tips' as my main phrase, I would include that phrase 2 to 5 times for every 100 words that I have on my web page. This makes it so that the page is very relevant for that search term when someone searches for it on Google.

Other things you can do is to bold or italicize this main phrase. Doing this makes the phrase seem more important to search engine spiders (scripts that scour the Internet in an automated way) and will give your webpage relevance over other 'ordinary' webpages. Start using this simple tactic, and your site will start shooting up the search engine rankings in a matter of days!
