Tripping SEO Traps

The contract arrived and read in part, "A keyword density of 10 percent in required." The writer who had originally agreed to craft an article based on a keyword let out a low whistle as a mental image of the finished product assaulted his good sense.

In a five hundred word article this would mean the keyword would be used fifty times. That's not bad if the keyword is 'the', but for a product keyword or phrase this is called 'keyword stuffing'. The practice is not limited to online content.

In the end, an article with a keyword density that high does not connect well with readers. You may ask yourself why someone would request an article like this. The answer is simple - the belief that this approach helps them achieve higher rankings in search engines. The truth is this article will eventually be detected as spamming and will cause the overall site to be penalized for the 'get rich quick' mentality that requested the article.

Keyword stuffing is also a problem in Meta title information and other descriptions. When you compromise the message of your website to get visitors to your site, it is possible that your site will not have anything relevant to say to your visitor because it reads like a foreign language or broken record.

Perhaps it is a lack of patience, but there are many online businesses that can't seem to wait for legitimate SEO strategies to take effect. Many of these individuals will spend hundreds of dollars with SEO firms that promise top ten listings. What many of these 'businesses' do is find a search term nobody is using (and may not even be related to your product or service) and optimize your website through Meta titles and other html language to ensure that an often bizarre term comes up first in the search engines when that exact term is used. If you're asking yourself how this helps, you have just asked a very good question.

The old adage that there is "no such thing as a free lunch" is true in site optimization strategies. The proper strengthening of your site position takes time, instruction and a deference to honorable SEO techniques that result in positive long-term rankings. By taking this approach you will also find that your site visitors will have the best opportunity to take your site, products and services seriously.

Techniques like 'keyword stuffing' are generally a turn-off to both search engines as well as visitors. In the end what use is increased site traffic if you have little substance to sustain the visit and maintain the long-term connection with potential clients.

How Informative Articles Can Help You Market Your Business

People who want to learn about something will strive to learn more about it through any means regardless of whether what they are interested in is learning how to treat cancer, how to play golf or play the piano. Sharing what you know in any field through the use of informative articles is an excellent way of marketing any services and products that you have to offer people.

Expert articles can often be written in a manner similar to an advertorial or they can be written like a paid placement advertisement which looks somewhat similar to other real articles which are featured in a publication. They can also be written like a press release which may be used to announce new products, new services or any other event that is seen as newsworthy.

Articles shouldn't be written like a typical sales pitch but they should be written in s similar form. They should also be written in the same professional manner that every other article is written in. The reader should be in a position where they are unable to tell that the article in question is a marketing tool written by a professional copywriter rather than an unbiased state of events written by a journalist. The simple thing to do is to avoid looking like a paid advertisement.

You can do this in a number of ways, by delivering expert advice or by offering a unique how to approach on a number of subjects.

The Expert Says: In this sort of article, the writer uses the know-how of an experts or a client on a particular subject in order to update the reader about any new trends that have come up in that particular subject area. A fashion designer can offer any opinion that they have on items for the new season. A dermatologist may highlight the benefits and disadvantages of the different sorts of treatments for acne that are on offer. The essence is to introduce the user to whatever it is that you have to offer by looking like an expert in the field which you offer your products and services.

The How-To Article:

This sort of piece still takes the position of an expert but it is written in a very consumer friendly manner. A dentist may offer an article like: "10 Ways You Can Get a Brighter Smile" or a number of other things that can be avoided when you go to them for treatment. What this article should do is to prove the reader with an article that provides the reader with information that they can use for themselves.

Writing in the marketing sense needs a special skill for presenting information in a manner that is interesting and which entices readers to want to find out more. All this must be achieved without looking like an overt sales pitch, rather it should be disguised in a manner that educates the reader to learn more about that subject.

When writing either of these types of marketing -style articles there are a few things to remember:

Find The Right Angle:

Find whatever it is that your readers relate to and you can offer them information on any subject.

Doesn't Sound Like A Salesperson:

Articles shouldn't sound like sales pitches. Offer your readers some practical advice that should be of use to them regardless of whether they purchase your client's products or use their service or not.

High Ticket Sales Article Marketing Traffic Strategy

Sometimes I get asked, you write so many articles that are very similar in nature, why would a publisher pick one of your articles over another one of your articles, or why would you get more traffic since you are writing multiple articles on the same topic.

Actually I'm not writing these articles so anybody can go to EzineArticles and pick them. I'm writing them so that the Google search engine will pick up the article.

For example, if you type in lots of different keywords in the article writing niches, in product creation, in website traffic generation, if you type those in you'll see that my articles in EzineArticles tend to come up relatively high in the Google search engine. That's what I'm targeting.

Most of EzineArticles traffic - my understanding is that it comes from the Google search engine and not from people who are just searching around EzineArticles itself, so I'm attempting to go for that one unique page that is going to pique someone's interest.

The second thing is we've done multiple tests on this, and of course the more articles that we write then there's a marginal decrease in the number of visitors we get per article, but it still increases the total volume of visitors.

We've kind of found that this number between 600-800 articles submitted per month is kind of an optimal number. It gives us a good number of visitors per article and this doesn't go over the board. We've actually gone as high as 2,000 in one month and found that at that level we didn't increase our visitors much past the level that we're at with about 800.

3 Steps to Designing an Effective Article Marketing Campaign

We all want our businesses to be successful one day, and that is the basic purpose for which we do all the efforts for, and success always brings in monetary stability along with it. Therefore, success and profit are the basic motives on which we build up our businesses and target all our efforts to achieve them. Any website, when created, does not start giving out any profit unless and until it is properly projected.

Amongst the various marketing techniques and tools which are equally helpful, article marketing is the best one.

    • Article marketing is a tool which is quite appropriate for successful promotion of your online business. By using this marketing technique, you can create awareness within your target audience. It is a very successful way of promoting an online business, with the competition around you growing in its intensity amongst online businesses.

    • Make sure to capture attention of your target audience by highlighting the basic concept of your business and with a general introduction to the products and services you offer, once this is done, move towards the focus point and then narrow your content to the central idea. The usage of keywords is an extremely effective way of spreading the word around,; as the more the relevant keywords, the greater chances of your website appearing on the forefront for people to view.

    • Do not only emphasize on the quantity of articles, but also remember to keep the good quality of the articles, so that the reader may get to know that you mean business and are serious about what you are saying in your particular niche.

The next step for the SEO is to determine which websites are most likely to match the word or phrase you are looking for with its content. This ranking system is extremely important to both the person searching and the owner of the websites because linking the two together is what both parties are seeking. Keyword Rich Content is What Hungry Search Engines Look For

Search engines like content that is rich in keywords. Although, there is no denial to the fact that graphics and images give your site a cool and pleasing looks, its not what the search engines are interested in. Such a site cannot attract a search engine or surprisingly even a searcher for that matter. But content has that attractive power. Search engines are not all that different from people.

When faced with an array of choices, they want to know which sites are the best and the best sites are the ones that give the most accurate and relevant information.

What you should know when you want to use your website as prey to the search engine spiders:

Good Content Can Assist the

-Search engines to place your website high for the specific keywords and phrases which are included in your content. It can be content in the articles that you submit to article submission directories with keyword url links or those that are there in your articles present on your site or even the content on the web pages itself

-The users to your website, and they in turn recommend your site to others

-Keyword optimized content will help other sites to link to your site, and this improves your link popularity and give your website more visibility chance to the search engine spiders.

Is it easy to get good content? It is indeed easy, by writing with optimized keywords and phrases that your prospective visitors actually use on a search query. It is not difficult as it sounds. Anyone can learn to write for search engine spiders and it takes a little planning as well as some good investigation. Given hereunder are some steps that will help you writing like a pro just like that.

Identify the keywords and phrases you want to target-you need to know which are the keywords and key phrases relevant to your website, product that you are promoting or service thereof and there are many keyword tools that can help you (some for free and some for little cost) and you can research on Internet for the same.

One more way to find keywords is by seeing server log of your website that will tell the phrases searchers are typing to come to your site.

You have to sprinkle your chosen keywords and phrases throughout your web pages and other content and even in ad texts. For instance one of the keywords you want to target is Craig Garcia. You will want to weave this phrase throughout your copy without making it sound artificial or unreadable. Insert them where they naturally fit, without compromising with the flow of the entire content.

Review your headings, content as well as hyperlinks. Use your keywords in heading, subtitles, page titles, bold face and hyperlinks, because these stand out well for the search engine spiders.

Including all articles that had keyword-optimized content is very effective to attract website traffic. The mathematics involved is simple each keyword optimized article that you post on your site add more keywords that the search engines are looking for and your chances to be picked up by the crawlers is brighter. You may also post your articles on article submission directories and spread the word about your site, get some back links and even some inexpensive publicity.

Make Your Business Skyrocket by Finding the Right Freelance Writer

When you are writing articles either for a print publication or for online distribution, you may want to write them yourself. This could be for a number of reasons but if you are a busy professional, chances are that you would be best of hiring an online copywriter or freelance writer. By hiring a professional, you can save money by focusing on what you do best while making sure that you articles are their best. Dont risk your reputation by publishing inferior content under your name. This article will have a few tips on how to find a great freelance writer that you can depend on.

The first step for finding a good freelance writer is to determine where you would like to have your articles published. If you are planning on publishing them in an industry or trade association journal, you may want to find a different freelance writer than if you were publishing them exclusively online. Remember that print publications usually only accept articles of between 800-1500 words or more so this can cost more and be much more complex. It is often more complex to write one 1500 word article that 5 300 word articles, so take this into account.

You should then think about cost to determine whom you should hire. Due to off shoring and outsourcing, there are a very large number of freelance writers in the Philippines and in India that can write your articles for online distribution. These people can be extremely proficient and work for very low rates, but still be well off. You should expect to pay between $5-10 for a 500-word article of decent quality for online distribution. For print publications, you should expect to pay between $100-200 for a 1500 word article. Also, due to online freelancing, there are a very large amount of freelance writers in America that will work for low wages because they can afford it online.

When you first contact the writer, ask for a few samples of their work and preferably where they have been published. You can also ask fro references and check these out as well. Make sure that the writer never plagiarizes as this can ruin your reputation almost instantly.

You can find freelance writers over online sites such as elance.com or craigslist.org and post in a few different sections. Try offering a low price and moving up to where you find a good deal with a writer that you can trust. You should also look to see if you can find a writer who specializes in writing for publications in your market or industry.

Finally, on a last note, beware of "private label article packages". These will claim to give you a large number of pre-written articles for you to put under your name but these are often junk articles that have been sold to hundreds of other people. It is very bad business sense to do this because you will be pegged as lazy and unintelligent at the best and a plagiarizer at the worst. More about these in later articles. Thanks!
